| Vista Home Premium (SP1, x86, Ita) | Java JRE 1.6.11_b03 makes IE7+DEP crash Please, if you're interested in solving a severe Java bug that makes IE7 crash when its DEP feature is enabled (as Admin, only to enable it: Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Security>Enable memory protection to help... ), (e.g. test page: http://www.java.com/it/download/help/testvm.xml ), register and vote for this bug: http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6545701 Maybe SUN will finally fix it...  |

Please can you cut & paste what "java -version" from command prompt says for you? However, if you'll give me about 30 min I can install 6U11 and see that the output is... I usually just install the JDK as it installs the JRE - would you prefer is I install the JRE alone first and post outputs from both? Or just install the JDK and post output? |

Does it still force IE7 to close? I doubt they'll ever fix it. IE8 will be be probably released before, and Java runs fine even with DEP enabled on IE8. |

I have the latest 6u11 JRE installed, but this is Windows 7 with IE 8 (Beta). Do I need to just visit that site you linked me to? Oops, silly me - I installed the 64bit JAVA JRE so I don't have the 32bit IE 8 with the plugin - let me go back and now install the *32bit* JRE... |
