Hello Everyone,

I' m using Vista 64 bit Home Premium.

Many apps cannot connect to the internet during installation or updates. Programs such as Google Earth and Turbotax will not install because they cannot access internet during installation process. Some programs, such as Visual Studio, used to connect to internet but now cannot. I have disabled firewalls (defender) and uninstalled Norton and Symantec.

I sure would appreciate some guidance and advice.

Check in the tutorial section for allowing programs to connect to the net. Normally Vista will ask you if it's OK.

Hi Clevo,

Yes, Vista does ask during some of the installations and I always grant permission. Still, get a message saying "cannot connect to internet" or "internet connection not found".

I too am having this issue.

Certain programs AVG and cannot connect to their servers for download. I cannot connect to WoW, but I can connect to warhammer for patch content.

It's extremely frustrating, hopefully there are some answers out there.

Hi guys,
Have you done any security checks lately?
If not I would suggest AV full scan.
followed by full scan with malwarebytes, updaate first.

Do you have an internet connection at all?
Go to internet icon in notification area and right click,go to network and sharing center, then go to View status,properties,TCP/IPv4.
See if it is filled in with the information your ISP gave you.
Sometimes in the view status table clicking diagnose can repair it for you.
