| Vista Home Premium 64 | Local Access only on Network Hey all, my first post so bear with me. Running Vista Home Premium 64 and I'm having great difficulties connecting to the internet through my home network. My wireless router is a D-Link WBR-1301 and I've tried the Internet Connectivity Test on microsoft.com using another laptop with XP and it said the router should work with Vista albeit with some vista features disabled. D-link itself says the router should work with Vista.. and I have to most up-to-date firmware for the router. The XP laptop connects to the network and internet just fine. I have WPA-2 security running and I made sure both machines are using the same passkey and are part of the same workgroup. The problem is that Vista says I'm connected to the network but there is no internet connection and no amount of diagnose and repair fixes the problem, such as reseting the wireless adapter, obtaining new IP address, etc. I've even tried using a LAN cable to connect to the router but to no avail either. Does anyone have any idea to what is going on here? Is this possibly a router compatibility issue? |
