| 64bit Vista Home Premium | Wireless not working Hi. I have problem with connecting to a network through wireless. I think I got it because I installed a new hd and vista, so my laptop is essentially new. But for some reason, I seem to not be getting any wireless connectivity to the internet. It used to work before my hd broke down, and now, my "new" laptop doesn't seem to know that I have wireless. The only way I can connect through the internet is by using ethernet and connecting the laptop with my dsl modem. plzz help! |

| Vista Ultimate | Re: Wireless not working Since you can connect to the internet, you should download the latest drivers for your wireless card from your laptop manufacturer website. You probably don't have drivers installed for your wireless card. Another thing could be, if you have a wireless adapter visible and installed, that you have pressed the key combination and/or switch button on your laptop that enables/disables the wireless antenna. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit SP1 | Re: Wireless not working I have a similar problem with a Gateway M-6752 with internal wireless capability that was purchased a year ago. Since then it has never been able to connect wirelessly other than with a Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter ModelWUSB54GC. My Internet provider was initially AT&T's DSL broadband service. It is now AT&T's U-verse. Both work(ed) fine with an older Compaq 1705 laptop and their 2Wire PC card adapter at the same thime the Gateway does nothing. The primary problem seems to be with the Gateway's wireless hardware, but they continue to try to resolve it with driver installations. There is a yellow triangle with exclamation point in Device Manager -> Network Adapter -> 6TO4 Adapter. The explanation says "This device cannot be started. (Code 10) Check for solutions says "Could not load driver software. Attempting to install device driver software says "...successfully installed but driver software encountered a problem... | Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: Wireless not working I was having a similar problem with my laptop and router here at the office and it turned out to be my router. You may want to take your laptop to a friend's house to see if you can connect. Other things to try is uninstall the wireless and install a fresh copy of their latest drivers. If on a network, make sure your laptop is part of the Workgroup where the network is... change the name inside My computer properties if necessary. |

| Windows Vista | Re: Wireless not working This may be OTT but when you replaced your HDD you may have done something to your wireless chip at the same time. Then again the HDD lid is seperate from the MB chip..... ..usually. |
