| Vista Ultimate 32 | Hide read Messages I'm experiencing a problem with newsgroups in WinMail. I set the current view to Hide read messages, but it on exiting all messages are hidden. Is there something else I should have done or is it a problem that still needs to be fixed? |

Is there not a way that I can (on returning to the newsgroup) see those? |

See if it has changed to just " where the message has Been Read " and " Hide the message ". No more IGNORED. If yes, OK yourself out. Try reading one newsgroup message, exit then return. See if the rest un-read messages are there. It works on my computer with the same settings. t-4-2 |

Make sure " Purge newsgroup messages in the background " is NOT checked. If it is still " no go ", go back to the default setting. I am stumped. It works on my machine. t-4-2 |

| Vista Ultimate 32 | Re: Hide read Messages I have tried the following several times. I read one, shut down WM, came back and the unread messages were there. VIEWS > Current View ( don't bother to click any options there ) > Customize Current View . Under (1) change to " Where the message has been read ". Under (2) change to Hide the message. > OK Now try it. t-4-2 Tools > Options > Advanced > Maintanance. Make sure " Purge newsgroup messages in the background " is NOT checked. If it is still " no go ", go back to the default setting. I am stumped. It works on my machine. t-4-2 The messages have not been deleted because when I go back and they are not showing and I go to view - show all messages they return, the unread ones are marked as read (not in bold). Thanks for your help anyway. I will continue to experiment and if I find a solution I'll post it here. Something I noticed is that in current view that a "copy of hide messages" appears for each time you change something. What is that for? |
