Why doesnt my laptop detect my xbox

Hi on my sisters laptop she has Windows Vista Home Premium same as me and she gets a pop up comes up by her networks saying blah blah blah and then something about a laptop and my laptop doesnt do that does anyone know why any help would be gratefull :D
