| Vista Home 32 bit | Live Messenger Video Problem When I contact my friend who also has a webcam we connect perfectly OK. Both video pictures are perfect. But after about 10 seconds my picture freezes while my friend remains OK. The sound continues OK. I've checked webcam settings in Live Messenger tools and all checks out perfectly. I am using Version 2009 (build 14.0.1850.1202). I've also tried LM 8.1 and 8.5 with same problem. My set-up is: Acer Desktop M1610 Vista Home 32 bit 4gb ram GeForce 8400GS graphics card Webcam is a Clique Hue Any help would be appreciated as my friend is housebound and our daily video chats mean a lot to him. Many Thanks, Steve. |

| Vista Home Premium 32 bit | Re: Live Messenger Video Problem Steve, what I have is not a fix but a different program to try. I too use on occasion live messenger video chat along with yahoo's version. I found them to be cumbersome and lacking. Since the commercial for Oovoo came out I went right to there web page and checked it out. I have since switched to Oovoo and haven't used any thing else since the switch. It's easy to download and it's free (free version and paid version), I use the free version. With in two (2) clicks I'm video chatting or IMing. Try it out and see how you like it. What's so unique about Oovoo is you can have multiple users at one time. With the free version up to 3 people and the paid up to 6 people at a time. Way cool! Like I said check it out and give it a try, couldn't hurt. |

| Vista Home 32 bit | Re: Live Messenger Video Problem Dear BassFisher, This is most kind to give me this info. I will certainly check out this Oovoo. Microsoft and all the others seem to be 10 times more complex and resource hungry than they need to be. Would my friend also have to have Oodoo? Or is it capable of connecting to other messengers? Anyway, I'm going to the Oodoo website now and will inform you of further developments. Many Thanks, Steve (over the big pond) |
