| Vista Home Premium 32bit. | Red x over network icon stopping use of Pidgin IM. Hi all, I've been getting that dreaded red x over my network connection icon at the bottom right of my screen, usual story of being connected but it displays I'm not. My research says to resolve the problem you just ignore it, but ever since it appeared I have not been able to use Pidgin the instant messaging client, which is where I access msn and yahoo. On pidgin is comes up as "waiting for network" when the red x is displayed, and if I shutdown and restart and don't get the red x, I can use Pidgin normally. I am only on dial up and not using wireless connections and now it seems like the red x is there permanantly no matter how many times I reboot. I have Vista Home Premium 32bit. Please help before I go insane. Science22. |
