| Vista Ultimate 64 | Dependency service or group failed to start If you are receiving the notification: Connection status: Unknown Dependency service or group failed to start; and you are running Vista and using Trend Micro for virus protection, then a fix is available for your problem. The problem is that Trend Micro mistakenly identified a Windows service, Network Location Awareness service, as a virus and altered the service to protect the system. I have written up the fix on my blog. I wrote after I found the same problem on 2 PCs in one week and spent hours looking for a fix.
