| 32 bit Vista home basic | Problems syncing with Mobile Device Ctr & Bluetooth In short: * Bluetooth syncing between PPC mobile phone does not work * Bluetooth between PPC mobile phone and Dell Laptop pairs * USB Syncing between mobile phone and Mobile device center works * Bluetooth syncing between PPC mobile phone prior to system reinstall DID work and worked well. * Bluetooth mouse was paired first this time and works well. Problem Details: I have a windows pocket pc phone that connected to Bluetooth very well with my Dell D830 prior to the crash I had last week. In fact, it worked better with Bluetooth than it did with the USB connection. After receiving a hard drive from Dell with the Vista Dell Basic operating system image on it and set my system up again along with all my programs and downloaded and installed the Mobile Device Center 6.1 from the Microsoft site. I synced pocket PC phone up with usb and had no problems. I set up my bluetooth and it connected with no problems. (I have a Bluetooth mouse that I set up and it works perfectly.) The Mobile Device Center partnership with bluetooth will not work. When I select ActiveSync and select Menu/Sync with Bluetooth, the Mobile center does not recognize the PPC phone. I see no response from the Mobile Device Center at all. I can see that the bluetooth communication is there by going into the Pocket PC phone settings/Bluetooth/select the Dell computer and do a refresh. I can see that it connects to the computer by looking at the phone in the Bluetooth devices in the computer’s control panel and seeing that the phone connects for about 5 seconds or so, and then it disconnects. I have uninstalled and reloaded (downloaded and installed) the mobile center twice now. Same result. The message is that the Pocket PC phone says that it “cannot connect using Bluetooth to a PC that supports ActiveSync”. Looking at the Bluetooth driver: The Bluetooth module is a Dell 360 Bluetooth module Under Bluetooth Radios there are 3 subgroups: Dell Wireless 360 Bluetooth Module which is working properly Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator which is working properly Windows Mobile-based device support which says “No drivers are installed for this device” I tried to update the driver for the Windows Mobile based device support, but after attempting to update, it said that the proper driver is installed. I have seen other people on the forum with this SAME problem. I guess I wonder why it worked so well before. What do you suggest? Last edited by eganders; 03-01-2009 at 08:23 AM.. |
