| Vista Ultimate 64bit | Vista 64bit VPN (What are my options) Hello! I really hope I can get some help on this issue. One of our scientists at work needed a computer that can run a pretty graphics intensive program. So the company bought him a new dell XPS 430 with Vista 64. They paid to have the upgrade to Vista Ultimate and now I am being asked to install all of the software from his old computer to his new. I have everything with the exception of his VPN connection. It is an IPSec VPN and I would like to know if I can just use the same Cisco VPN client that was on his old XP Pro system (32bit). Can Vista 64 bit run a 32 bit VPN client? or do I need to download a specific 64bit VPN client for this new computer? Any recommendations welcome! MUCH MUCH thanks! |

| Vista x64 Home Premium | Re: Vista 64bit VPN (What are my options) The 32 bit Cisco client wouldn't install on my 64 bit Vista Home Premium. As of a few months back, Cisco had no 64 bit client and it sounded like one wasn't in the works. |

| Vista X64 Business | Re: Vista 64bit VPN (What are my options) Hi, I had this problem with the VPN of my university and I am using the Shrew Soft VPN Client now...it works fine and it's free. BUT it doesn't have the option to import pcf files , so it can be pretty hard to configure... Shrew Soft Inc. Of course , other (much more expensive) options are to buy a comercial software that can be configured more easily, or to use a virtual machine with another OS on it. |

| XP x64 | Re: Vista 64bit VPN (What are my options) Another option is NCP engineering. Its client is universal, and will work with 64-bit machines. And its easy to configure. Here is the datasheet, and you can download it here. |
