Vista - I can not print from a vista ultimate 64 bit machine to a networked printer attached

I have a 32 bit XP Professional computer. It has a Brother MFC 8500 and a HP 932C printer attached to it by usb wires. Both of these printers are shared. I have another windows VISTA ULTIMATE 64 BIT MACHINE NETWORKED .I can see my xp computer in the network. I can install the networked printers. I can print to hp 932c but not to brother mfc 8500.I can share the files no problem. I shall really appreciate if somebody can help me with it. Please and thank you for your precious input and time.

What happens when you try to print to the Brother printer? What's the exact error message, if any?

Have you updated the Brother printer's driver package recently? If not, you should try that.

Do you have a third machine (any Windows OS) that could be used to determine whether the problems printing to the Brother machine are specific to the Vista box?

My problem has been solved. I installed latest drivers for the borther printer on vista machine and in the process created anew local port.and named this port as
\\BLACK\BrotherM
where as BLACK IS THE COMPUTER NAME OF THE XP PRO COMP TO WHICH THE PRINTER IS ATTACHED AND BrotherM is the share name of the printer. It worked like a charm I am thankful to you for you input. Have a great day
