vista 64 and netgear d834g router

i have a I7 2.6 cpu, 6 gig ram gigabyte x58 UD3R MOBO

and vista home premuin SP1

i cant get an internet conncection on my new pc, went into bios and in smart lan it detects a 100mbs connection

but vista sees nothing

except when i mannhally try to connect a box appears that already has my ISP username in and asks me for the password but when clicked i its says no broadband connection found, yet as iam typing this on the old pc the connection is there
using a netgear 834g router wired to the pc,even if i plug the router in while vista is running , i get no pop up to say a device has been found
thanks for any help
