Internet globe has dissapeared

Hi everyone, here is todays little problem, ive recently had some sort of conflict problem when i insert/remove any usb device from my usb ports, i usually get dissconected from my wireless connection and i have to manually remove the wireless dongle or disable/re-enable it in the connection settings. Ive not been happy with that, but cant find a soloution to the conflict at the moment. However, last night the same happened, but when i did the usual routine i started to get "can't connect to network, wrong wireless passkey". After a reboot, and a router reboot, several times, i had my internet connection back. But alas i have lost the globe that appears infront of the local connection, i have fully functioning internet and the local network works fine also, i just cant work out where the globe has gone, and why it has gone?

I also have had an ongoing problem for months that my pc can freeze up, usually in the mornings, not at set times either, but i was wondering if it could be my flatmate connecting to the wireless on his pc that is making my pc crash? I can sit on the pc all day long and have no problems, the issue usually only happens say between 5am and 9am ive noticed.

Any help on these problems would be great as the usb conflict is rather annoying, as is the frozen pc, especially when i am trying to seed files while not at the pc. Thanks
