Belkin USB Hub and Vista 64

Ok hopefully this is a simple fix. First off I will put down my computer specs.

Asus striker Extreme MOBO
Intel Quad core CPU @ 2.4
6 gigs Kingston Hyper X Ram
Seagate 250 gig SATA HD
Dual SLI'd 8800 GTX Vid cards
Creative Fatality platinum Sound Card
All housed in a Titan Robella water cooled case.
Windows Vista 64 bit Operating system
Lynksys wireless and wired router.

Heres my problem. I have a belkin USB HUB (F5L009) with my printer and an external HD attached. I ended up having to do a reformat and reinstall of my 64 bit because of a screw up of my own doing!! Anyhow I have the belkin software installed and can see my printer and the external HD but when I click on it to connect, A window pops up saying to wait while its connecting to the device and it disapeers real quick. It does this for both. Before I formatted they worked fine. I could connect to either of them. Now it just flashes the screen up saying its connecting then it goes away and doesnt attempt. I have tried reinstalling the software. I went through the registery and cleaned all instances of the belkin software and still the same thing. The other computers I have connect to it fine. Mix of XP and vista 32bit systems. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced!!!

Re: Belkin USB Hub and Vista 64

I know this is simple, but:

1) have you tried bypassing the hub and are you able to connect both peripherals directly to your machine's USB port and access them? This will prove it is a HUB issue and not a peripheral driver issue.

2) have you made sure that the hub is plugged in if it is powered by an AC adapter?

Good luck!
