| Vista Home Premium 64-bit | Sharing Vista HP 64bit to XPH New Files Missing Secretary's computer: Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP1 Boss's Computer: XP Home SP3 Problem: New Files placed in a folder under the Public area on the secretary's computer cannot be seen by the Boss's computer. Files and folders that existed when the folder was shared can be seen by the Boss's computer OK. If I change the security settings on the new files to allow everyone to have full control of the file, then the Boss's computer can see them normally. The problem seems to be that new files added to the shared folder are NOT inheriting the security settings for the folder where they reside. I have been networking computers since 1986 and have never had so much trouble as this one. I await enlightenment on bended knee.... |
