Wierd wired/wireless issue

I'm using VMWare to run XP inside Vista ... it's a fairly basic problem, but a bloody annoying one, when I plug the network cable in, I can access the shares from the Vista side in WMWare XP, but when I use a wireless card/usb dongle, the share appears, but is not accessible, it says I do not have sufficient privileges, I'm confused to hell as nothing has changed via the sharing, only how it accesses the internet/network, but BOTH are on the same PC, so effectively, there is no access to the router!

Please help!!!

Hi Jason,

this may be the cause that vista consders the wirless connection as a different connection and blocking your file sharing. when your connedcted via wirless on vista go to network sharing center check to see whether protected file sharing is enabled. if not enable it and this should slove your problem

Hope this helps
Cheers !!!

Thanks for the info, but it was already enabled, this made no difference, I even have public folder sharing enabled, and it can't see that! I think the icon in VMWare XP is there as I managed to connect via wired, but now I click it and the whole window freezes, I just can't access it .... I think I'm going to have to go to the lengthy process of actually removing Vista and going back to XP .... any final suggestions before I make this step?

Thanks,

Jason
