Enabling rdp causes the system to shutdown

I have 2 brand new custom desktops I ordered from Dell. The are both running Vista Business x64. They have 8GB of ram and tons of free space.

When I enable Remote Desktop in Windows within 1 minute I get a total system security warning that says windows will reboot in one minute and to save and close all programs.

I checked the event logs and lsass.exe is always listed at the time of the crash. The local system security program is seeing some type of a security risk when this is enabled.

I have updated video, network drivers and even removed the installed printer drivers, (On the advice of Dell Support). I cannot seem to find anything specifically like this on the other forums that I have been to...

Any advice is more than welcome,

Thanks in advance,

Josh:)

LSASS is one of the "special" user-mode processes (Winlogon, CSRSS, SMSS being some of the others) without which the OS cannot function. If LSASS terminates for whatever reason, there's no option but to restart.

It could be anything at this stage, from malware to a buggy anti-virus filter driver. Sounds like you're seeing a DEP warning which suggests that code has somehow been injected into LSASS itself.

I'd suggest first uninstalling all your antivirus utilities (disabling them is not enough) temporarily. If that does nothing, try running WERCON and looking for logged details of the LSASS crash - is there a minidump.mdmp mentioned? That's a memory dump which contains some info about the crash. Analysis of that may reveal why LSASS is crashing.

Hi,

Check whether any processs named avserve.exe or four or five digits, followed by _up.exe (for example, 74354_up.exe)is running using task manager. Also check whether TuvUOeFy.dll is found in the system 32 folder. Then dowload the malware bytes and run a full scan. this may help u..

Let me know the result.:)
