Vista - Best Wireless PCI Network Card???

Ok, let me pick everyone's brain here. Can you guys tell me what the best wireless network card is vista 64 compatible? I play a lot of FPS'es online and want to try to find the best one for me. I just moved and right now I am running a 50ft wire from the living to the second room of the house (so I'm basically 40ft away).

Also, how bad will my lag be for games like COD5 with a wireless card? I've only ever hardwired my rig to the router and never gone wireless before. So I'm leary of this move in fear of completely destroying my online playing. Any advice?

My recommendation is to try to keep with the same manufacturer as your wireless-router/access-point. This will result in the best level of compatibility between the two, as wireless is often far "gimpier" than wired connections.

Following that advice should drastically narrow down your list of candidates.

Perhaps if you did that, and came back with questions regarding specific models, some of us here could reply with our experiences on those models.

Grrrr. I'm afraid the only Linksys NIC's I have experience with were USB. And they were less than impressive.

Anyone else around here have any experience with Linksys PCI WiFi adapters?

Darn, That's news I did not want to hear.

I won't know what to do if the wireless won't work.

I'm not saying that it won't work - I'm just saying that I'm the wrong person to ask about Linksys PCI WiFi cards.
