| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Want to use USB network adapter instead of internal wlan card Hi. My new Dell XPS 1530 laptop has an internal wlan card which does not seem to pick up the network signal strong enough. I am constantly disconnecting and the download speed will begin around 11mbps and, very shortly, drop to about 1. My (very) old Dell desktop has a Lynksys external network adapter that picks up the signal strong enough with no problem. Never disconnected. How ironic that I am forced to use my old Dell desktop with this brand new notebook sitting here. Anyhow, I ordered a WUSB600N Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter and am wondering how to disable the internal wlan card in order to try the external adapter. My OS is Vista 64. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS! Roxanne |

Some laptops have a switch near to the keyboard so that you can switch it on or off You could take the old network card out of the laptop, You could also go to Device Manager Right click on your Network adapter and select disable. I hope this helps Pooch |
