Internet not working slow or not at all!

Hi
Ever since I moved to Sky internet about 2 weeks ago the internet hasn't been working properly on my desktop computer.
I connected it up just like the instructions said but when I boot up my computer the internet is either very slow or it doesn't work at all. I found this strange since the world symbol infront of the two moniters in the bottom right hand corner (on the toolbar) shows that the internet is connected.
I have tried setting up a new connection and re-installing the hub but to no avail.
Any help would be much appreciated.
