Address bar drop down menu in IE8

Hi,
The scroll bar in dropdown menu of the address bar is missing in IE8, I am not sure whether it was there originally and I have noticed that the same addresses remain in the dropdown menu. The old addresses are not replaced by the new addresses lke it was in IE7, could you please let me know if it can be changed.TIA.

Re: Address bar drop down menu in IE8

Hi Brummy,

The scroll bar is missing since the list does not go past the AutoComplete drop down menu. I'm not sure you can change that though.

By default, these older entries will be automatically removed as newer ones are added when it reaches the limit of items it can have it the list. I believe it's 25.

You can clear this list in Internet Options, Content tab, AutoComplete Settings, Delete AutoComplete history, OK, and OK.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Address bar drop down menu in IE8

Thanks Shawn, I have cleared the drop down menu and tried to open up few pages, they all open up in new tabs and my drop down menu doesn't show at all. Except for this minor annoyance IE8 works flawlessly.

You're welcome.

The new addesses should start showing up again, but probably after a few uses of them though.

Re: Address bar drop down menu in IE8

Hi Shawn,
IE8 dropdown menu is thoughtfully designed IMHO, dropdown menu shows 12 web sites and the older ones are grouped(Extendable) in to History and Favourites.
When I extend either of them the scroll bar appears.
