Vista - My pc does not want to recognize my ethernet

I have a ps3 and I wan't to connect to the internet so I bought a wirelesss router and about 3 ethernet cables (I didn't know it wasn't neccesary)I try calling verizon to help hook up my router but they say some thing was wrong with the router it wasn't lighting up. So I bought a new router and the Ethernet wasn't lighting up eather. My dsl modem isn't lighting up eather so i've proved that my pc isn't recognizing my ethernet connections... My uncle has a ps3 and he has internet so I called him and he couldn't help me because the problem is with the pc. What do I have to do? I'm freaking out i've tryed using my other ethernets and the results are the same as before!!!! please someone help me!!

I've heard that Dell drivers aren't really good for this but I don't know if i have any dell drive so How do i know that? I don't know it because I bought my computer installed from pc richard... and it was brand new this isn't an used computer...

OK is the computer a Dell ? You mention Dell drivers but you didn't tell us what computer you have.

Is it a desktop or laptop and who on earth is "pc richard"

Please come back and try telling us exactly what set up you have with regards the Internet connection. If the first router didn't work why didn't you have it replaced instead of buying another one.

We need to know the make and model of the router you have as well as the computer, do you have two of them as you mention Vista Ultimate x64 then Vista Aero 32bit whatever that is.
Also the make and model of your modem.

am i missing something here? nothing lighting up? is it switched on???
