JUST set up a wireless network today through my linksys wrt54g2 router. And the Password I configured it with wont work. Meaning I can put nothing in the password space and still get in on wireless devices. WHAT THE HECK. Its only for my PS3, WII and NINTENDO ds. No laptops

ITS WEP

EDIT- Only wep passwords dont work. but my wireless games only work with wep. Also when clicking on wep once I got- Wep will stop wps because wifi protected setup doesnt support WEP/wpa-enterprise, wpa2-enterprise radius

Im so confused

Friends don't let friends use WEP. WPA is a much better choice from a security standpoint.

If you can "get in" irrespective of what password you supply that suggests the problem is on the router's end - it's configured to let anyone through irrespective of what password/key they supply.

I don't know why it rejects anything but a blank password, but if the same behaviour is evident from all of your devices then it's obviously something to do with the router.

After toying with everything I was able to make the router only accept the password I entitled it to. Turns Out the connection just NEVER worked. I tried a connection tes and it sad couldent access the net. I reset the thingAND MADE A NEW PASSWORD. it still accepts any password BUT when you try the connection test it only works with the one I entitled. Before the test wouldent work with anything.
