Hi there, this is my first post on this forum, so take easy on me I've been browsing the internet for hours, eventhough it seems to be a somewhat reoccuring issue I couldn't find the solution yet, so I hope my own thread will work better.

I've recently purchased a new notebook " HP dv6-1199eg ", specs :



Proc:
AMD Turion™ X2 Dual-Core Mobile Prozessor RM-75
• 2,2 GHz, 1 MB L3-Cache

Memory :
4096mb DDR2

OS :
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit Service Pack 1

Network Cards :

Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter
Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E GBE NIC


Router :

Siemens Gigaset SX541 with a German ISP


Problem :
Everytime I try to connect to a WPA Wi-Fi connection I get an error message telling me I've timed out while trying to authenthicate.
The SSID is "BermudaDreieck", the wpa-key 10 1keys long, only numbers and letters.
When I disable the WPA option my notebook connects without a problem and I get a stable and fast connection.
Other Notebooks didn't have problems connecting to the WPA network before, neither did my dad's PC.

I've already updated the firmware of my router as well as the driver of the Atheros card.

Hi there, changing the password didnt help. Still the same timeout. still workin without the WPA protection. still confused :X
