My Computer

it's kind of strange. usually the cert error occurs only when u have INSTALLed some firewall or antivirus program.

The problem Explained:
The root of this problem is probably something like this: your software blocked the certificate validation session when SSL negotiation is undergoing. Your browser then detects the mismatch of certificate and show you the navigating warning.
So, every https site you are visiting can result in such error.

Solution:
currently, no good solution can be presented due to lacking of essential information.
However, if u believe it's caused by the uninstalling, try to re-install it and reset all settings in BitDefender. Then test whether the problem is gone.

Hello Maxcai, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You might see if this can help with this:

1. Browse to the website in question.

2. When the "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." message comes up, click on "Continue to this website (not recommended). "

3. On the right hand side of the address bar, click on "Certificate Error".

4. Select "View Certificate"

5. Click the "Install Certificate" button

6. Click Next, Next, Finish, Click Yes

7. On the "The import was successful" window, Click OK

8. Click OK

9. Close ALL Internet Explorer windows

10. Start IE7 and browse to the URL

11. You should now be able to access the site without warnings.
Hope this helps,
Shawn

Brink; found this article on certificate errors. the system is a Vista using IE 9
the site is Yahoo and it says the updates are successful when loading a new certificate but how many is there to do??? I also noticed that there was a problem with the MS update and the error was date/time so I corrected that however there still is a conflict with the server for updates. tried to synch them but failed.
I can go to other sites and no problem with certificate errors.
I only mention the date/time as I thought I read on a Microsoft forum that to check the date and time.
any suggestions?
Larry
The machine is running Vista Home Premium. 32bit Service pack 2.
It did not have a virus program so I installed Security Essentials.
I ran Malwarebytes and found nothing.
I have followed your tip about deleting the certificate and adding it back and they always get a successful install.
they are using ATT and of cource it goes to Yahoo.
