Cannot sign onto my laptop when away from home

When I am away for work I cannot always sign onto my laptop because it is not connected to my domain, eventually I resolve this by logging on as a local user then switching to a domain user. This appears to work
The domain is controlled by Windows 2003 SBS
What am I doing wrong?

This is a setting on the domain server for cached logins. You'll need to talk to your domain administrator about it and they should be able to get it fixed.

Thanks for that, but it turns out to be an issue with HP Credential manager (I have an HP 6710b 64 bit laptop)

I have disabled this feature now and things work a lot better.

After further research it appears that Vista SP1 and this device are not friends

Something I encountered at my previous job, some of the people who traveleld regularly would hibernate their laptop instead of shutting it down. This is with WinXP SP2. Some of those laptops looked for their docking station and the network at that office. Not finding it, it hung up and pretty much demanded they log back into that netowrk which was typically hundreds of miles away. This was about the year 2004. Hopefully this doesn't happen under Vista.

I do not have a docking station - when I work from home I use my desktop but related to this Vista has fixed the bug whereby it tries to replicate with my server (could also be hundreds of miles away) whenever any network connection is made
