Ways to connect Xbox360 to my Wireless Router

Without getting into a rant here, I need to find out if there is any other device that I can use to connect the Xbox 360 wirelessly to my network... I refuse to pay ONE HUNDRED GREENBACKS to Microsoft for a simple wireless adapter.

Connecting the 360 to the router via wired is NOT even an option I am willing to discuss, you will just have to trust me that it would be a royal PITA if I were to got that route.

I found another post in the Media Center and I will be doing that once I can get this box to hook up wireless w/o the need to sell one of my kids to buy the adapter. ;)

Oh and, the most important part in all this... please make it extremely easy for me to do! :)

OK, due to the lack of responses here, I had to go do some Googling around, which btw, yielded some interesting responses but I am now more confuse than ever :o so I am hoping that you gurus will be able to shed some light on this subject and explain it to me in layman terms :p

I am paying for Comcast Cable, so far I have the cable coming from the wall of my room into the cable modem, from there I connect the ethernet wire to my D-Link DIR-655 wireless router, another wire from router to my rig and wireless for the other PCs and devices.

since I refuse to pay 100 buck for a wireless adapter that should come with the console or cost no more than 10 dollars, I was thinking that I could run another cable from the wall where the xbox 360 resides, plug it into another cable modem and from there hook up the ethernet wire to the nic on the xbox.

Am I to assume that this could FRY, INTERFERE, INTERRUPT or even DAMAGE my internet connection, modem or even router... god forbid it does something to my PC

What do the powers that be have to say about this? Should I take on knitting and leave the heave PC stuff for smart people? :D

well there is one option that does involve wires, maybe a bit confusing to realise but you can get a networking adator for your power supply in the home. Powerline networking, as long as your xbox 360 is near an outlet you can network it wired, all you need is 2 powerline adaptors, 2 ethernet cables and plug them into their respective ports.

you basically use your power lines in your home as ethernet cables, its genius :D

It sure appears to be that easy to hook up and if it works that well, it would be twice as fast (if not faster) than going wireless. Not as cheap as I would have liked it but, at least, is half the money M$ wants for that cheesy device they call an adapter

Microsoft should be ashamed of themselves :D

You could use an extremly cheap laptop as a wireless bridge.
