managing favorites

Have a problem with my favorites folder and links that has been buggin me for a while and i can't figure it out.

I had to change desks at work, moved to this cubicle and IT had pushed a fresh image of Vista Enterprise 32bit onto this system. I coppied my favorites folder from the desk i was at before (also corporate installation of Vista Enterprise) onto a USB flash drive, along with my documents etc.

I then moved all the files from the flash drive to the Documents folder. Then tried to move the Favorites folder to the c:\users\my_name\ folder. It, of course, had a favorites folder there already, when i tried to delete it and put my favorites in there i got a message saying i needed permission, i granted access through the UAC, click try again and got stuck in an endless loop. So i clicked cancel, shut the computer down and went home for the day.

To cut this story short :P i came back the next day now i have a favorites folder inside the favorites folder in the Documents folder, where it's duplicated all my favorites. If i delete that folder i get an error when i got to my favorites saying it can't be found.

So, how can i move that favorites folder to the users folder like it should be, and have IE7 redirected to that favorites folder?

Re: managing favorites

Try this out and see if it works

Dont copy the favortives itself but double click it go in the folder select and copy all the links and place the links that you copied from the folder in the new fav folder on your new PC. so basically copy the links in the folder not the folder
