My lap top has a buncha Lenovo crap, and the thing that manages the internet is called Thinkvantage Access Connections. The thing is pretty much crap, somedays couldn't detect the router that was 3 feet away from me, but could detect the nerighbors router from across the street <_< I'd either have to flip the wifi switch on and off to get it work again or restart the computer. I'm getting highly annoyed now because the wireless radio itself has been shutting off on its own, and I swear I have to do the whole diagnose/repair thing like 3 times a day now. Some people on Lenovo support forums gave me some suggestions. The first was to go to the device manager and uncheck the boxes that say "let windows turn off this device to save power" I seldom run this thing on battery as I'm always plugged in via the AC Adapeter so I unchecked it, but it didn't fix the problem. The other sugggestion that may fix this problem is to let Windows manage the the wireless connections. I've been told to go into the network and sharing thing, find the wireless card/device and right click properties. From there your suposed to mess with some check boxes on from the "wireless network" tab, only problem is that tab is NOT there when I go to do it, so that dosen't help me much.....anyone know why that tab is missing or perhaps another way to do this?
