Private Network Problem...

Dear All

I am a new guide here, and have a private network setting question.

I am using Vista X64 Business, and connecting to internet through HUB without IP sharing function. I set the local area connection to "Private" in "Network and Sharing Center". But it would change to "public" if I restarted the computer. Does anyone have any solution for it??

Thanks so much.

Re: Private Network Problem...

due to your connection i believe you will have to manually change it every time you reboot.

Re: Private Network Problem...

Dear nso5300

I am using ADSL with PPPOE, it means I have to dial up to get internet connection.
I have set the IP address to 192.168.0.2, and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
I have turned off IPv6, just using IPv4

Should I offer more information ??

thanks so much and really appreciate for your replying.

Re: Private Network Problem...

Dear nso5300

thanks for your help, first.

IPv6 is deactivated, and I don't have firewire connetction.
wireless connection is not activated, either.
But it still changed back to "public" if rebooted.

Any suggestions???

thanks so much

go to the start orb and start orb and type services.msc and from there you can see if the services are running
