| Vista Home Premium | "vista windows remote assistance errors" I am encountering in Vista when I use Windows remote ssistance an error when I connect to another computer. It indicates that remote assistance has encountered an error and needs to close. contact system administrator or technical representative if this continues to occur. The two computers can connect, but this immediately occurs after connection happens and it shuts down. Can someone give me an idea as to how to resolve this problem. Intent connecton is on and other programs are running in the background. Windows firewall is off. Thank you |

| Vista Ultimate 32-bit | Re: "vista windows remote assistance errors" Has your system been updated to Vista Service Pack 2? You might want to try running the System File Checker. Start CMD.EXE in an elevated mode (type CMD.EXE in the search dialog box at the bottom of the Start Menu and hit Ctrl-Shift-Enter.) Then type SFC /SCANNOW at the command prompt. |

| Vista Ultimate 32-bit | Re: "vista windows remote assistance errors" Also, what OS is installed on the other pc you're trying to connect to? Are you trying to be the "novice" or the "expert" on your Vista Home Premium pc with the problem? |

| Vista Ultimate 32-bit | Re: "vista windows remote assistance errors" How about the answers to my other questions? Updated to SP2? Tried System File Checker? And another possibility: you might try using MSCONFIG.EXE (typed in the Run dialog box) to turn off startup programs on the Startup tab to see if any of them are interfering with Remote Assistance (do this on both computers). |
