I cant connect to any wireless network using my laptop. On the network icon in the bottom left of the screen it says:
Connection status: unknown
Access is denied
It works fine using the wired connection but it still shows as disconnected!
Also when trying to install a program it says:
'The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.'
This is all happening when using the main administrator account, when using the standard user account or guest account everything works fine!

You might check the password for the wireless account.
No idea why the installer wont work.

Does this work with Vista cause it isnt listed there?

Well, yeah.
Note that the page says it does NOT occur in these Operating Systems.Note This behavior does NOT occur in the following products:
- Microsoft Windows XP
- Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition
- Microsoft Windows 98

I have tried some of them and nothing is working still got the same problems. Strange that its only happening with the administrator account and not the standard or guest accounts.

Then try deleting the account (DO NOT delete files while deleting the account and before you do, create a new admin account) and creating a new one. That's the only thing I can think of, now.
Once again while deleting the account, check SAVE files.

Just done that now mate thats the last thing I could think of too! Deleted the account and added a new one and there was nothing to keep in the old one anyway it is a new laptop. All is working fine now thanks!
