Internet time snyc won't work!

    Internet time snyc won't work!

    Windows internet time snyc wont work.
    It start some time between installing windows vista sp1 and windows vista sp2. I am using windows vista home premium Sp2 x32 with avg 8.5 and widnows firewall. Becuase internet sync won't work i cant update avg or my computer. Please help- me

    Nope, it just says "An error occured while windows was snycronising with time-nw.nist.gov."

    Have you tried using different time servers to see one of them may work instead?

    yes none work. I'v even tried adding others but they don't work either. I also tried changing my timezone restarting then snyc but that didn't work.

    Here are some more items to double check:
    • In Windows Firewall, make sure that Internet Time Server is checked and added as an exception.
    • The Windows Time Service is set with the default settings of Started and Automatic.
    • In your CMOS settings in the BIOS, check to see if the time and date are correct.

    1 No such option in windows firewall.
    2 It is.
    3 What are you talking about?

    It seems that they removed the need for that in Windows Firewall now.

    When you boot into your motherboard's BIOS, double check to see if your time settings in the CMOS section is correct as well. If this time is to far off from what it is in Windows, then it can cause a issue like this as well.
