| x64 | Internet d/c issue I just got a new laptop that has windows vista 64 bit home premium. My computer can connect to the internet throught a cable just fine and can also connect to the internet wirelessly just fine. My problem is that the internet will randomly d/c the connection and it will take about 30 seconds to 1 min for the internet to reconnect. I know it is a problem with my computer because my sister has a mac with wireless and does not have the same problem and my father has a laptop with xp on it that runs with wireless just fine. I was wondering if anyone knows what is causing this problem and how to fix it. My wireless network adapter is Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN. My ipconfig /all is: Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6001] Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. | Vista Ultimate x64 SP2 | Re: Internet d/c issue Hi Itcandyrapper, and welcome to the forums. Do you get d/c also using a cable? If that's so, try switching off your WiFi card and test with cable again. If the problem is solved, try downloading the latest drivers for that WiFi adapter (maybe you don't have the x64 drivers by default). If you can't find the Vista x64 drivers, just take a chill pill and buy a new WiFi adapter. On the other hand, if you also get d/c while using your wired LAN with the wireless adaptor switched off, also download the drivers for that adaptors... if nothing happens... return your computer instead of buying the two adaptors ![]() Cheers, |
