cannot conect to DNS

I need help. I recently moved onto a college campus and they provide my internet. I have a Linksys G wireless router plugged into the ethernet port in my house. I set up a private network with a WEP key and both my laptop (using XP) and my desktop (Vist Home Prem) were connected to the network and exchanging files and using internet. Yesterday all of a sudden the Desktop decides that I only have local connect and no internet and now I get a cannot connect to DNS message. How do I get my desktop back on the internet- the laptop remains fine????
