Networking and Printers

I'm new to this forum so if there is a better place for me to post this, let me know! I'm not so tech savvy either, so please bear with me here.

I have Vista installed on a computer in one room, and XP on another in another room. Vista computer networked to XP computer via a blue ethernet cable and wireless router (for friends' laptops). A HP printer is connected to the XP computer.
Now, I'm sure there is a way for me to print through the HP printer from the Vista computer so I tried the 'Add Printer' wizard which could not find HP printer on its won and the printer could not be found by browsing. A print spooler error showed so I retarted it and tried entering the name of the computer and the printer, which it came up with another could not be found error message.

What options do I have here, other than saving files to USB and putting them onto the XP computer then printing off that? (It is a LOT of mucking around!)

Anything!

Thanks!

In xp computer,

Go to control panel>classic view>printers and faxes. Right click on the printer and properties. Click on sharing tab and make it shared.

In vista computer, type \\name of the xp compter and hit enter.

There you will find the printer. Just double click on that printer, it will be connected.

Before doing all these make sure both the computers in same workgroup :)
