Vista - "Microsoft sync center has stopped working"

On my Dell Studio 1535 I am running Vista Ultimate 32bit. Recently a message box has been popping up randomly (even when no programs are open) which is titled: "Microsoft sync center has stopped working" and reads: "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Close Program". How can I stop this annoyance? Thanks for your help.

Hi and thanks for the welcome and for the link. I still need help; something is goofy.
From the links you provided I learned that I can't disable or turn off Sync Center. Then I tried to do the steps to end a sync partnership in the question "How do I end a sync partnership in Sync Center". I opened Sync Center by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking Sync Center. Sync Center came up and in the View sync partnerships window it says: "You have no sync partnerships set up on this computer. Click Set up new sync partnerships to get started."
So any suggestions would be appreciated on why the Microsoft Sync Center has stopped working when it shouldn't be working at all. aledm

The "problem" you have with your synch center not working is a common one that I've noticed from my reading around different forums.

In spite of MS saying [in the link I gave you above ]"You can't disable or turn off Sync Center" I found this tutorial at our forum that claims otherwise.

Did the Mobsync suggestions. Silly message still comes up. Anything else to try or close or eliminate or throw out the window???

Only other suggestion I've seen is to disable Offline Files in Sync Center.

I actually get the same problem every so often as well. I have been trying for a year to stop it / find a solution without success. I have decided to just ignore it. My system has no other probs, apart from that small annoyance.
I wouldn't advise throwing anything out the window.

I always have the pop up window minimized at the bottom of my screen now. It doesn't seem to pop up when I do that but it does clutter the bottom of my screen. So I am still mildly annoyed by it. If you ever find a solution, please tell me! Thanks
