Cannot communicate with Primary DNS Server

Hey,

I'd appreciate any help regarding the periodic loss of Internet connectivity whilst using my Acer Aspire 6920G laptop. I connect via a Linksys WRT54G wireless router.

Everything has been fine up till about 3 weeks back; my Internet connection will go off approximately 2-3 times per hour, and I'd have to 'Diagnose and repair' my wireless connection, with these 2 messages frequently popping up: (please refer to screenshots)

I tried looking up other forums for possible solutions, and ran ipconfig in command prompt as directed:

Is there a reason you havent got your router set as your primary DNS server?

Sorry, I'm really ignorant when it comes to Net connectivity issues. Is it imperative for me to set my router as the primary DNS server? And if so, how would I go about doing it?

Thanks anyway mate.

Generally you would let your router handle the dns in you case this is 192.168.1.1, I'm just looking for some instructions for you as I'm currently running Windows 7 and couldn't talk you through changing the dns from memory.

Edit

Step by step instructions here - http://www.plus.net/support/domains_...ns_vista.shtml

use 192.168.1.1 as the primary server or try obtain dns server automatically.
