| Vista home premium, 32bit | Computer on network is diconnecting me. Im not sure how long this problem has been going on, but I noticed it several months ago. My family has two computers: one the family uses that is in the living room, and one I bought that I keep in my room. Now the problem is that every time the computer in the living room goes into sleep mode and they do anythign to bring the computer back to the desktop or log in screen (it dosent matter what it is, as long as the computer resumes from sleep mode), that act seems to disconnect my laptop from the internet! I get disconnected from any online games, browser wont work, Instant messenger signs out, and I usually have to reset the router so I can get back on the internet. This also happened to my friend when she brought her computer to my house. The "family" computer, my laptop, and my friend's laptop are all running vista; mine is 32bit, not sure what the main computer's is at the moment. I really need to find out why this is happening to my connection every single time someone gets that computer out of sleep mode, because it happens a lot, and its a real pain. Im not sure what kind of information about both computers in question would help so ill post a few things about mine and ill try to get information about the other one tommorow morning, or if someone asks. My laptop: Dell Inspiron 1525, Windows Vist Home Premium 32bit, Intel core 2 duo processor, Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset. Thanks so much to anyone that can help me! |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit | Re: Computer on network is diconnecting me. This won't "fix" the sleep mode problem but here's what I would do: 1. Disable sleep mode on the LR computer. 2. Use hibernate mode instead. 3. See what happens. I've had weird problems on my Dell Vista 64bit laptop when it came out of sleep mode. Not that it affected my other PC on the network but problems within the Vista laptop itself. So I just use hibernate on the laptop now during the day and I shutdown at night before going to bed.
