Vista - Wireless/Local only

I know a lot of people have this problem, but nothing i've read elsewhere solves this for me.
I have an Acer Aspire 5735z with an Atheros AR5B91 network adapter. I have a Netgear Rangemax ADSL modem wireless router DG834PN.

When I first got the laptop, the internet worked, then the local only problem connection came along. I did some fiddling and it sorted itself out. Two months on, the problem is back, and i can't seem to fix it.
XP computers can connect wirelessly to the network. We have another vista laptop (newer) which has the same issue though.
Recently, "local only" hasn't been so much the problem, but the laptop says "local and internet" but no web pages can be loaded. IE asks me to diagnose network connection (fails).

I have tried;
DhcpConnForceBroadCastFlag (32bit) with a value of 0 in the regedit.
Disabling IPv6 on the wireless connection.
Disabling IPv6 on all connections
Disabling and stopping IPhelper
(and some other things)

I have the wireless and ethernet connected. Both have IPv6 disabled.
