| Vista Business 64 | Vista 64 Bit - Stopped by Router Greetings, I updated my home PC today from XP Pro to Vista 64 Bit Business. I was provided the software by my employer and purchased a brand new HD to install it on. Install went fine. My home network consists of the following: My PC -XP Pro - wired connection Wife Laptop - XP Pro - wireless Kids PC - XP Pro - wireless Vonage VOIP - wired PS3 - wired wii - wireless d-link router The above set up works great all the time. I installed Vista 64 Business on a new HD today and changed nothing else as above. I cannot connect to the Internet at all through my router. When I bypass the router and plug in directly, I can connect without issues. This (for obvious reasons) will not work and was hoping that someone could help me out. My service provider (Cogeco) will not help me at all since the Internet works without the router connected. Please tell me what information you require from me in order to help me out. Thanks in advance. |

| Vista Business 64 | Re: Vista 64 Bit - Stopped by Router My router is a D-Link Wireless N Router. I can access it through 192.168.0.1 from XP but cannot see it or access it through Vista 64. The router shows as being compatible with Vista 64. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=DIR-615&v=D-Link&uid=&pf=0π=2&c=Networking&sc=Wireless+Routers&os=32-bit and latest firmware is installed on the router. My network card shows in XP as a Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC. I downloaded the latest drivers for it on the Vista 64 installation as well. |

| Vista Business 64 | Re: Vista 64 Bit - Stopped by Router The Vista install is "straight out of the box". No firewall or antivirus other than what Vista would have installed. I have not fired up the other PCs to see if they see the Vista box but will reboot and do that. I am using my XP boot to send and read these messages. No mac blockages to the best of my knowledge. I simply loaded Vista, rebooted and tried Explorer with no luck. |
