| 32bit | Wireless LAN connection problem Dear all, I use Window Vista. I have no problem connecting to the internet if I use a normal cable but when I use my wireless LAN AP, my PC can detect the wireless router with no problem at all but then my PC could not connect to the Internet (the Earth). My wireless router is a IEEE 802.11 LAN. I believe this is related to some codes or something that I should enter? Could anybody let me know what to do? thanks!! |

Also, FYI, WPA2 offers good encryption. |

| Vista Ultimate 32-bit & Business 32-bit | Re: Wireless LAN connection problem You set up wireless access security on your router yourself. You typically access the setup through a browser with an address like 192.168.1.1, provide the password (the default is typically "admin" with no username), and then see a series of pages and tabs. Somewhere in there, you will have a Wireless page or tab, and then probably a Wireless Security page or tab -- with some options for the SSID broadcasting and different forms of access control. If you've set up access restrictions, you see them there. BTW, it's best to connect to the router via a wired connection when you do this, that way, you don't get hung up on wireless security while trying to configure it. |

| Windows Vista Enterprise x64 SP2 | Re: Wireless LAN connection problem Mark, For something cool, you can flash your linksys from www.dd-wrt.com | Unleash Your Router It's linux-based and a great alternative to the standard Linksys flash. Yeah, never have wireless admin. Security issues, for one. Argbey, you need to connect to your wireless router with cable to see if security is enabled. Did somebody set this up for you, buy it used, or is it new out of the box? Refer to your instructions for setting up security. You will want WPA2. Set for G or N unless your wireless adapter is B. What is the make and model of your wireless router? |
