if i select "find program" it takes me to FILE ASSOCIATION page and lists 4 programs : microsoft word view 2003,or microsoft word etc.

hi and welcome to vistax64 forums

all files have 2 parts to their name. the first part is the files name (like my email) and the second paart is called an extension. In your case the extension is "DOC". doc represents a document file and cna be opened by several programs. Its usual opener (called an application) is microsoft word.

You do need to download it if you want to save it which I suspect you would. save it in a place where you can find it.\

One other thing about email. be sure you have a working anti virus application to make sure you dont catch something in an email.

Hope this helps

Ken
