| vista home premium 32 bit | Vista Premium, XP home internet connection sharing problem Hi all, First pc is running vista premium, this is the host pc connected to the internet, second pc is running xp home and this is the client pc. I have connected the two computers with a crossover ethernet cable, no router, file sharing is working fine between the two computers but I cannot get internet connection sharing to work. My ISP is 3 via mobile broadband, somebody told me that you cannot internet connection share mobile broadband? Anyone got any ideas what settings, eg Ip, subnet mask and default gateway etc i could manually enter to get internet connection sharing working? Some advice would be really appreciated. I have already tried to follow all the usual steps to automatically enable internet connection sharing but no joy. Thanks |

| vista home premium 32 bit | Re: Vista Premium, XP home internet connection sharing problem Actually i did get internet connection sharing, by switching things so both computers run the same operating system, so internet connection sharing will work with '3' Mobile broadband if anyone is googleing for answers, but dont try using different operating system, I used windows xp home for both and ran the network set up wizard on the host (go to microsoft website for instruction setting up internet connection sharing on two computers) my set up used a crossover ethernet cable and no router, default gateway, dns server dhcp server of client is all 192.168.0.1, subnet mask of client is 255.255.255.0 . |
