Annoying loss of net connection until restart

I have vista 64 bit home premium and all latest updates, been happening on and off since bought the machine (quad core hp) about a year or so ago.

Does not happen all the time but enough to be a little niggleing.

Start up the machine and all is ok, net connection is fine for a few minutes and then drops off to limited connectivity and cant get it back, Have to shut down and re-start, from then on, net connectivity is fine and could leave it on for days with no problem. As I say does not happen all the time though has happened twice in the last few days.

I have Norton 360 which works great and I dont have the machine going to sleep or hibernating or anything like that.

Any ideas, it's not an ISP thing, all other machines in the house, wired or wirelesss work fine, I think it's some quirk with Vista.

Thanks

Do you have IPv6 enabled? its in networking and sharing. It has been shown to cause randpm drops and slow downs.

Let me know if you need help with any of this

bump!

Im having the exact problem, i was going to post a new thread but i thought i might as well bump this up.

I have tired to do all sorts of things, updating my wireless adapter driver, reseting wlanconfig in services, no hope. I am almost sure its not the router as my brothers laptop is fine and he has never had this problem. I even formatted to try get rid of it but no hope....could there be something wrong with my wireless adapter?

What i dont understand is that it does it at random times, its quite fustrating

Thanks in advance!
