Vista - Network Cable Unplugged?

Sorry, i have seen many other threads, but none of the solutions seem to be able to solve my problem.
I live in residence which has a wireless network and ethernet ports in every room. For the past two months I primarily had my laptop plugged in, but on occassion i went wireless. Both worked fine. Then recently while looking at my network connections, seeing that i was connected to two networks (LAN and wireless) i got the crazy idea that i could bridge them together and get super-fast internet (dumb). I then looked at the network speed, my LAN was normally around 100Mps and Wireless approx. 54Mps, the new "bridged" connection was only 54mps, so i concluded that only the wireless network was being used. So i deleted the bridge, then noticed that it said my network cable for my LAN was unplugged, when it wasnt. I know bridging the two internet connections is most likely the cause of this, however i do not see why this problem wouldnt be fixed once i deleted the bridge.
I checked for updates to the driver, i rolled it back, updated it again, nothing worked. I did the ipconfig/all to confirm that it was indeed "unplugged".
Any ideas?

Dont need the help anymore! Not really sure how it happened, but when i took it home and plugged it into my home router my laptop recognized the cable, and when i got back to rez it also worked...
