Not all subfolders are being shared?

I'm sharing the root of a hard drive(no OS, just files) in Vista using the "Advanced Sharing" option in the drive Properties>Sharing menu(the regular Sharing button is grayed out), where I added "All Users" to the permissions(total control) list. I can access the folders in it just from another computer fine save for half of the subfolders in one of the main folders(which is around 100gb in case that matters). Its like if the permission rules weren't applied to each individual subfolder, because if I check the ones that I can't access, it indeed looks like the settings were not applied to all of them. I've tried removing and unsharing the whole drive and starting again and it still doesn't work. Any ideas? Is there a way to reset all of the sharing settings?
