One day my house electricity went off and caused my router to shut off. When i turned back on my router i didnt have any wireless internet connect anymore. The only way i could connect to the internet now is through my modem using the ethernet cable.
I have used the diagnostic repair and even updated/reinstalled my internet driver, but it's still not working.
I don't know if it's the laptop or the wireless router that's the problem.
Can anybody please help?

I use a Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card
I have a Linksys Wireless-G 2.4GHz 802.11g Broadband Router

Is there power to the router when it is plugged in? If so, it sounds like you might need to hold down the "Reset" Button on the router for about 30 seconds.. Can you see other networks? Is your Wireless Switch light blue or amber?

Let me know if you get results from this.. If the router does not power on, then the router has been fried and you need to purchase a new router.

I have a similar problem with a Linksys WRT54G2V1 wireless router. I went on their Chat line and got the following procedure. I don't know if it applies in your case but here it is; This did not solve my problem I think because of a problem with IE8
Okay. Here are the steps:
1. Press the Reset button at the back of the router for 10 seconds while it is powered on. Then unplug it from power for 1 minute afterwards.
2. Plug the modem to the router's Internet port and plug the main computer to any of the router's numbered ports (the main computer is the one that can get online straight to the modem even without the router).
3. Open Internet Explorer browser, type 192.168.1.1 on the Address bar and hit the Enter key. Leave the User Name field blank and type admin on the Password field.
4. Go to the MAC Address Clone sub tab. Enable it then click Clone this PC's MAC. Click Save Settings.

5. Go to the Wireless tab. Set the Wireless Configuration to Manual. Change the SSID from 'linksys' to any name you want, enable the SSID Broadcast, then click on Save Settings.
6. Go to the Wireless Security sub tab. Set the Security Mode to WPA-Personal, enter a password (it should be at least 8 characters), then click Save Settings. That will then be your wireless password.
7. Turn off all devices (computer--router--modem) for 30 seconds. Then restart them (modem--router--computer). Wait for the router's power light to stay solid before you plug it to the modem, and connect the computers (wired and wirelessly) to the router.

Take note of the steps and ori it.

Or paste it to MS Word.
