Hello everybody.
I really hope I'll find an answer to my problem in this forum. :)

I've got a SAMSUNG notebook and my "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter" seems to be not working. I cannot see (let alone connect to) any wireless environment. I have to access the internet via ethernet cable, which is really annoying. I've done the following so far:

  • The device manager says the adapter is working properly.
  • I've updated to the latest driver
  • The adapter is also turned on.
I don't know what else I should do. Please help me.

By the driver is working properly You mean the atheros driver correct?

have you run the networking diagnostic?

Yes, the driver is correct. And the networking diagnostic didn't find any problems.

EDIT: Oh no, I was wrong. The hardware test in the networking diagnostics was not successful. It said "The driver version is not compatible with Intel PROSet/Wireless Wifi-Software Version 12.0.2.0" (translated)

The error suggests you need to switch to a driver that is compatible with your hardware.

I tried to locate your notebook on the Samsung site so I could point you to the download section for your wireless adapter driver. Unfortunately, I could not find your particular model or any model even close.

What you are going to have to do is find out who the maker of the adapter is and locate a suitable driver. Once you do that, then I can help you get it installed.

I just deleted my driver and deleted the adapter from my device manager and re-installed it. It works now. :) :) :)

Thanks anyway.
Great, great forum.
